We Are The Outlaws

We are the Nottingham Outlaws, the University of Nottingham’s American Football Club. We play in the BUAFL, the largest student football league in Europe and take part in the annual Nottingham Varsity series vs. NTU. We were founded back in 1995, and have enjoyed a lot of success since, last competing in the playoffs in 2008 and reaching the quarter-finals. In 2010-11 we finished with a record of 5-3, narrowly missing out on post-season football on a tie-breaker.

We welcome all students of the University of Nottingham to join us, no matter how much experience you have. Most players that join us have never played before, so don’t worry if you’re new to the sport. Come down to one of our training sessions, socials or matches, to see if it might be for you. Details of where to find us and when can be found on this website, or by contacting us through our facebook group.

We are also responsible for hosting Nottingham’s largest Superbowl Party every year at our sponsor bar, Walkabout, so if you’re just a fan of the game who wants a great venue to watch some NFL football then you’re welcome to join us on Sunday nights throughout the season.

The 2011-12 Outlaws

Welcome to the 2011 Nottingham Outlaws. As Head Coach I have been involved with the Outlaws for many of the last 15 years and I am looking forward to the 2011-12 season as we continue to develop our reputation in the BUAFL. As a member of the Outlaws you will benefit in a number of ways:

1. The Outlaws have an extremely strong coaching staff who will help you to constantly improve your skill level, your physical fitness and your ability to participate in the toughest of “collision” sports.

2. You will be able to contribute to the success of the Team from Day 1. American Football uses a large squad with unlimited specialist substitution. There is a position on the field to cater for all sizes, shapes, experience and ability.

3. The return in 2011 of the All-Conference teams and the GB National Student team will enable you to set your aspirations even higher and test yourself still further.

4. Your fellow players will provide you with an instant “support network” to help you settle quickly into the social side of University.

We look forward to meeting you at Freshers Fayre 2011
