FAO Old Boys and Current Outlaws

We are pleased to announce that the 2012 Nottingham Outlaws Old Boys match will take place on the Saturday the 12th of May, kicking off at 13:00 on the 3G astro (next to the sports centre) at the University of Nottingham, University Park Campus (NG7 2RD).

The pitch is ours from 12:00 if you want to show up early and we have it until 16:00 (although nobody is currently booked after us).

This is a fantastic opportunity not only to meet up with old team mates and coaches but also to meet the current players and coaches who are continuing to add to the clubs rich and successful history.

The game is fully kitted, if you do not have your own kit please show up EARLY so we can get you sorted.

Hope to see you all there!

Provisional 2012-13 Fixtures Released

BUAFL has today announced the provisional fixture list for the 2012-13 season. The Outlaws schedule sees them kick off against one of this season’s National Championship finalists; the Birmingham Lions, in their annual xpLosION event, before heading across the Midlands to play old rivals the Loughborough Aces. The schedule also sees games against MAC teams not encountered this season in Leicester, Lincoln and Warwick. Two of this season’s rookie teams in DMU and Northampton are again in the schedule, with the Outlaws hoping to repeat their 2 shutout victories against the new sides. Finally, as with every season, the annual Varsity matchup against the NTU Renegades is scheduled for Superbowl Weekend, with the Outlaws hoping to get revenge against Trent and erase memories of this seasons’ Varsity loss.

Week 1: Nov 4th @ Birmingham Lions
Week 4: Nov 25th @ Loughborough Aces
Week 5: Dec 2nd Northampton Nemesis
Week 6: Dec 9th Leicester Longhorns
Week 7: Jan 27th Lincoln Colonials
Week 8: Feb 3rd @ NTU Renegades
Week 10: Feb 17th Warwick Wolves
Week 11: Feb 24th @ DMU Falcons

Player Kit Return – This Sunday

With the season now over, we need to collect in team kit from you. To do this, we will be opening the stores on Sunday afternoon from 1pm, and asking everyone to bring all their kit back. We have on file everything that you’ve rented from us, and if you don’t return it we will charge you. The estimated costs are indicated below, but may be higher:

Helmet (£100)
Shoulder Pads (£50)
Lowers and Leg pads (£25)
Game Jerseys (£40 each)
Training Jerseys (£10)

Please do everything you can to get your kit to us on Sunday. If you can’t make it, ask someone else to bring it for you. It is your responsibility to get it to us, not vice versa. It’d be much appreciated if it’s clean too!

Seeing as the stores are open and loads of people will be coming down, we’ll probably play a bit of passball too.

Impact Magazine Varsity Review

The University of Nottingham’s Official Student Magazine recently reviewed our Varsity matchup versus Nottingham Trent. Here’s an extract from their take on the game:

“At a bitterly cold Harvey Hadden Sports Complex, two unanswered touchdowns in the first quarter sealed a 21-4 victory for the Nottingham Trent Renegades over the Nottingham University Outlaws, tying the varsity series up at 2-2. As covered by Impact’s Thomas Mellor, the Outlaws found themselves in better form heading into the grudge match but the Renegades walked away deserved winners, having made better use of their possession.
